Obituary of Marion Barbara Kotlarek

Marion Barbara Kotlarek peacefully passed away in her apartment at Edgewood Manor on the evening of March 26, 2020. Marion was a life-long resident of Proctor MN, where she was born on July 7, 1927 to Ferdinand and Clothilde Vanneste.

Marion married Floyd Kotlarek in January of 1950. She and Floyd celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Marion was an avid quilter, gifting many friends and relatives with her creations. She also excelled at other needlecraft, as sewing clothing, and knitting. She spent many free hours knitting mittens for the Proctor Mitten Tree. She loved gardening and being outdoors.

Marion is survived by her brother Tom (Karen) Vanneste, of Proctor, and her children, Peter (Joni) Kotlarek, of Onalaska WI, and Anne Mann, of Duluth. She also is survived by 3 grandchildren, Zachary, Alexandra and Benjamin Kotlarek, and her favorite grand-dog, Sam.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, and her brother Gene Vanneste.

Due to the current health concerns of the nation, there will sadly be no public services or visitation.

Internment will be a private ceremony at Oneota Cemetery. Any memorials would be appreciated by St. Rose Catholic Church in Proctor, MN.
