Obituary of Charlene A. Bjostad

Charlene A. Bjostad passed away on September, 29, 2019 at the age of 94, where she resided at Benedictine Health Center.  She was born to Leonard and Louise (Krueger) Bjostad on February 7, 1925 in Duluth, MN.  

 

Charlene was a 1943 graduate of Duluth Central High School, then attended Duluth Business University.  She was employed at Twin Parts Sales, Marshall Wells Co., and Road Machinery & Supplies Co.  She retired from the Duluth School District, having worked there for 24 years.

 

Charlene was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years and the Debra Circle. Char had a passion for music, especially the classics.  She loved to play her organ, was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed her trips to St. Louis Park to spend time with her sister.  

 

She was proceeded in death by her parents, younger sister Eleanor Bjostad, and sister, June (Jack) Currier.

 

Charlene is survived by her niece, Joyce (Michael Rime); two nephews, Dennis R Currier (Patty) and David J Currier (Mary); six great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces.  

 

Thank you for the wonderful care from Benedictine Health Center, St. Mary’s Hospice, and her wonderful friends from First United Methodist Church who were a blessing to her.  

 

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 with visitation at 12:30 and service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 230 East Skyline Parkway, Duluth, MN.  Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home.
