Obituary of Phyllis E. Polla
Phyllis Elaine Polla, born April 21, 1930, in Duluth, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2019 at St. Lukes Hospital. Phyllis was the only daughter of Wayne and Lydia Polla.
She was preceded in death by her son, Miles Johnson, and brothers Donald Polla and Gilbert Polla. Former second husband, Carroll (Shakey) Chapman.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Wayne (Cal) Polla, her three children, Terence Johnson, Lorie Johnson and Daniel Johnson with wife, Teresa. Nine Grandchildren; Nicole Gredzens, Tara and husband Chris Wolff, Natalie and husband Grant Madich, Taylin Johnson, Jeff (Leon) and wife Heather Johnson, Chris and wife Stacey Orlett , Ronald Johnson, Storm and husband Shawn Henry, Brent and his wife Aleesha Johnson. Seventeen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ronald W. Johnson was a former spouse and good friend.
Phyllis had lots of initiative and was involved in different businesses such as Johnson’s Dary-Delite, Monarch Wing Monogramming (sewing was her passion) Bonnie’s Costumes, The Glacier’ ice cream shop in Willow River. She loved to keep active and participate in bowling, pool leagues, TOPS and bingo. She enjoyed saunas, swimming, loved music, animals and travel. She retired as a Rural Carrier with the US Postal Service. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with the Kanteleen Soitajat Group, Finnish Choir-Jarvenpaa Singers, Ladies of Kaleva. Aallotaren, Tupa #15 and was a member of the Kenwood Lutheran Church.

Gathering of Family and Friends is at 1pm and the Memorial Service is at 2pm at Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, Saturday, June 22nd. Lunch will be served.
