Obituary of William Mourin
William Charles “Billy” Mourin, age 66, longtime resident of Eveleth, died unexpectedly from a heart attack on Sunday, April 28, 2019.
He was born June 23, 1952 in Eveleth, MN to William & Theodora Mourin. Billy was a 1970 graduate of Eveleth High School and continued to receive a Bachelor Degree in Education from Bemidji State University.
On June 12, 1976, Billy married the love of his life, Marsha Lee Madson. He taught 4th grade and retired from Franklin Elementary School in Eveleth. After retirement, Billy worked at various jobs, most recently Sam’s Club where he received employee of the month. He felt strongly about providing for his family.
Being with his family was his passion. He loved large. Billy’s family is truly blessed to have many memories demonstrating his huge capacity to love. We miss him. We are very thankful for the life we had together and the love we shared. It will take a lifetime to remember all the things he did for us. Billy loved his kids so much from the moment they were born and delighted in each one. Each time a baby was born he would say, “they are so cute, let’s have another one.” He was the best husband when Marsha was pregnant, rubbing her back, telling her how beautiful she was, and running to the store in the middle of the night for preg-o snacks. He was a very devoted husband and father. Billy and Marsha never stopped caring deeply for each other, when life happened they doubled down and rode out the storm. They had each other’s back! He was protective of his family. All of his kids reflect the person he was. Heaven will reveal what we only glimpsed here. The foundation of Billy’s life was God, church and family. As followers of Christ we have hope. There are many who have gone on before him and he has joined that great cloud of witness and is cheering us on even now.
He is now with his son, Zachary William; and his parents.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marsha; his children, Rebecca (Sami) Hasbani of Milwaukee, Joshua (Katie) Mourin, Joseph Mourin, and Anna (Andrew) Williams, all of Duluth; four grandchildren, Elias, Luka, Camilla and Chasya; sister, Alecia Mourin of St. Cloud; two nieces, Gretchen and Jennifer; two grandnephews, Gunner and Archer; and many other relatives and friends.
