Duane Kallberg

Obituary of Duane Gustav Kallberg

He was born July 10, 1936 in Duluth, the son of Fred and Lela Kallberg. On March 2, 1963 he was spiritually born again, and as of that date, he chose to follow Jesus. Jesus set him free and gave him the promise of everlasting life in Heaven. His father and mother pointed their eleven children to Jesus, the Son of God, and that is what Duane and Rae Ann did also. It was by far the best thing he did in his life. He married Rae Ann Gordon on March 23, 1957; celebrating 61 years together. He worked for 30 years as a bus driver for the Hermantown School District and had many previous jobs. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Roger and James, sister-in-law, Beverlee, brother-in-law Roger Carlson and nephew, Tommy Kallberg. He is survived by his loving wife Rae Ann; his children: Glenn, Lynn (Dennis) Czapinski, Karl, Roy (Kathryn); brother-in-law Terry Gordon who they raised as a son for many years; grandchildren Jenna (Jasson) Bauer, Kara Czapinski, Jake, Wesley, Leo, Claire and Maxwell Kallberg, great-grandson Jonathan Bauer, sisters; Joanne Carlson, Janis (Jeff) Goude; brothers: Donald (Delores), Charles (Helen), Daniel (Carolyn), Gene (Bonnie), Mark, Clint (Ruth) and many nieces and nephews. A private family ceremony is being held with burial in Hermantown City Cemetery.
