Obituary of Hazel Lee
Hazel Marie (Schramm) Lee, age 89, of Superior, WI, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Encompass Healthcare and Assisted Living where she had been a resident for the last four years. Hazel was born Dec. 1, 1928 in Wilmot, Wisconsin to Frank and Hazel Schramm. Hazel attended school in Grandview, WI and graduated from Drummond High School. She also received her degree from WITC.
Hazel’s work history included waitressing at the Capitol Tea Room in Superior, Patio Cafe, Goldfine’s Cafe, and preparing taxes at H&R Block. She also worked at other health and assisted living facilities in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
In 1947 Hazel became the beloved wife of Robert Owen Lee, Sr. They loved traveling, watching Brewer, Packer games together and taking care of their grandchildren. Hazel was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Superior, where she volunteered for the Ruth Circle and was active in making quilts that were sent to the Superior Memorial Hospital. Hazel was also a past member of the Eastern Star. Her other pastimes included knitting, crocheting, and reading. Fishing and camping were also joys in her life.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; brothers, Frank and Bob; sisters, Harriett, Bertha, Audry, June, Nina and Ruthy; daughter-in-law, Deb Lee and son-in-law, Charles Wilson.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lee-Wilson of Manhattan, KS; sons, Robert (Jean Ann) of Superior and Richard (Ruth) of Appleton, WI; grandsons, Frank, Craig, Antonio, Nick, Rick Jr., Garrett, Jon, and one granddaughter, Chara-Lee; step-granddaughters, Nicole Neylon and Jessica Vito Clark; two sisters, Beatrice and Marion; and one brother, William. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
