Obituary of Amaryllis Sowl

Amaryllis L. (Amy-Ami) Sowl, age 89, of The Mount Royal Pines died on November 13, 2018 at Lakeshore Lutheran. She battled courageously with multiple physical issues. She was surrounded by her loving family at this time. Amy was born on August 12, 1929 in Rice Lake, WI to Alex and Edith Howie. She graduated from Rice Lake High. She was active in 4-H, winning grand Champion Honors; with her Jersey Calf three years in a row. Amy was a bright light to everyone she came in contact with. She was passionately patriotic and unwavering in her support for disadvantaged and underserved people. She embraced Everyone. She gave unconditionally of her time. Amy took classes at UMD so she could assist children with dyslexia at Cobb School. She was active at Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on many committees; including Altar-Guild, Funeral lunches, Quilting and many more. She also was a big contributor of her time in the Woodland Community as an election Judge, Hockey Mom, and much more. She was interested in history and very proud of her Scottish Roots. She loved spending time with her husband Fred and was a regular at his Class of “51” Denfeld Reunions. She also met monthly with Police retiree’s and significant others for 26 years. Her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren is legendary.
