Obituary of Bryan J. Ollila
Bryan Jay Ollila of Duluth died peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 encircled by his loved ones. He was born on February 4,1969 in Duluth, Minnesota to Adolph and Marjorie (Heckman) Ollila. Bryan graduated from Hermantown High School in 1987 where he played basketball and baseball. He enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, playing softball, and golfing with friends and family. He attended UMD and the U of M for Electrical Engineering until sustaining a head injury, which altered his course. Bryan continued to live his life with dignity, courage, and most of all, his sense of humor, and was loved by all who knew him. He was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church. Bryan is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his brother, Scott (Teri) Ollila, and sisters, Brenda (Charles) Palokangas, and Shari Ollila (Chris Chapman); nieces Brittany (Jeremiah) Schubitzke, Claire (Brent) Isaacs, Jordyn (Nicholas) Aho, and Eryn Ollila; nephews Ty, Mac, and Will Palokangas; great-niece, Macy and great-nephews, Alex and Luke. The family thanks Bryan’s RSI Jefferson friends for their years of excellent care and support. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 10am-12pm, followed by a 12pm Funeral Service at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, 6273 Old Hwy 2, Munger, MN, internment Oneota Cemetery.
