Obituary of Ardys M. Maker
Born to John & Florence (Lundstrom) Monroe on November 28, 1912 and raised in Winsted, MN. Attended Duluth Teacher's College and taught in several rural schools. Met her husband, John, while working at the Green Giant plant in Le Seur, MN in the summer of 1940. They lived in various places throughout John's career as a Colonel in the US Army. They settled in Duluth and tended their farm in Lake Crystal, MN in the summer. Ardys served as Chairperson of the Women's Institute of Duluth, Duluth Woman's Club, YWCA Board, WADSO, National Board of Presbyterian Women, and the Duluth Republican Women. Ardys and John were pillars of First Presbyterian Church for 65+ years.
She was preceded in death by husband, John; parents; sister, Harriet (Ralph) Nelson; niece, Patricia Luke; nephew, Fritz Bystrom; and brothers-in-law, Robert Maker & John Bystrom.
Ardys is survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Maker & Ann Bystrom; 8 nieces & nephews; and "Duluth daughter," Judy (Jerry) Lindor Arnold; her church family and many friends.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, July 16, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 E. 2nd St., Duluth. Rev. Jeremiah Knabe will officiate. Private interment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the church.
