Obituary of Goldie Doris Jacobson

Goldie Doris Jacobson, 95, of Two Harbors, Minnesota passed away and was reunited with her husband, Lawrence, on Friday, January 26, 2018, exactly 10 years after Lawrence’s passing, to the day. Goldie was born to Albert and Tina Anderson on December 14, 1922. She was raised in Spicer, MN and liked to tell people the stories about her time on Green Lake. Goldie remained there until she married the love of her life, Lawrence Jacobson, in 1942. The family moved to Two Harbors in 1949 for Lawrence’s job, where they raised three sons; Leon, Michael, and Larry. Goldie’s faith was extremely important to her. She attended the First Baptist Church of Two Harbors. Goldie would never pass up the opportunity to spread God’s love to others. Often, when being greeted by Goldie, you may have received a hug and were serenaded by her singing, “I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck.” Goldie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was active up until her passing and enjoyed going on walks to the break wall, having picnics by the lake, camping at Crosslake, baking sweet treats to share with others, visiting the nursing home, knitting gifts for friends, and even getting stuck in the mud when off roading in recent years. Goldie will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Cindy Renae; her parents; brother, Harry Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Jacobson. Goldie is survived by her sons; Leon Jacobson, Michael (Brenda) Jacobson, and Larry Jacobson all of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Jason Jacobson, Kristi Hartman, Nathan (Heidi) Jacobson, Chris (Laura) Jacobson, Kimberly (Greg) Moe, Katie Jacobson, and Kristi (Cory) Svihla; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Lilly, Randy, Justin, Tatum, and Torin; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation: 5-7pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 602 15th Avenue, Two Harbors. The visitation will continue from 10am until the 11am funeral service Friday, February 2, 2018. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Two Harbors.
