Obituary of Willard Douglas McCrady
Bill worked at Udac for many years before retiring and made many friends there. Bill found his home with Innovative Living (later DRCC), where he met his housemates with whom he lived for over twenty years.
Bill loved talking to people and getting to know them. He enjoyed comic books, sports, music, but most of all his “stories”. Bill loved his sister, whom he spoke to and visited with often. Two of Bill’s proudest moments included winning a gold medal in the Special Olympics and attending the Buddy Holly concert in Duluth.
Bill was one of a kind and made a lasting impression on all who knew him. His wonderful spirit and unforgettable laugh will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister Mary Jo (John) Yachwak of Hibbing, his niece Ann Yachwak (Peter Beatrice) of Chicago, and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Udac (www.udac.org/donate.html) or DRCC (https://www.give.mn/zkf4cg), both of Duluth, for which the family is deeply grateful for the years of outstanding services and loving care provided to Bill.
