Obituary of Mildred Marion Koski
She was born April 13, 1926, to Toralf and Amy Garson in Virginia, Minnesota.
Mildred graduated from Virginia High School and after graduation she moved to Chicago and worked for a short time. She returned to Virginia, Minnesota, and worked as a secretary at North East Airways in Eveleth where she met her husband, William (Bill) Koski and they married in 1948 and had two sons, Bill and Bob. They moved to Bloomington in 1960 until Bill’s retirement in 1985 when they moved to Two Harborsto be closer to family.
Mildred changed the lives of many for the better. She was always a bright light that told it like it was, took pride in her cooking and strived to please others. A day never went by that music wasn’t playing in her house. She was a very devoted great-grandmother and loved their visits and being entertained by them.
She is happily welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband of 64 years, Bill, and her son, Robert (Bob the Great) Koski, along with her parents, Toralf and Amy Garson, and her sister, Violet (Kermit) Bloomquist. She will be deeply missed by her son, Bill, grandson, Ryan (Mandy) Koski, great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Ashton, Piper and Jack, and her good friends, Fred and Nancy Kallio and Kathy Ruberg.
The family wants to thank Dr. Allert, Dr. McMahon and all the staff at Lakeview Hospital for the excellent care she received and also Community Partners, Meals on Wheels, her neighbors, Fred and Nancy Kallio and all others who assisted Mildred so she could stay in her own home until her passing.
A private memorial service will be held.
