Obituary of John Waldo Cook

John Waldo Cook was born July 11, 1936 in Rockingham County, Virginia to John Wilbur and Minnie Bell Thomson Cook. He attended school in Briery Branch, Virginia. He married Dorothy Lou Cooper on March 2, 1957. Most of his adult life he worked as an accoustical ceiling tile mechanic for Allied Accoustical Tile, Bragtown, North Carolina and Penninsula Accoustical Tile, Dover, Delaware. His life reflected his faith in Jesus Christ and his selfless love and devotion for his family. He attended the Willow Grove Church of God, Willow Grove, Delaware and Spirit & Bride Fellowship, Willmar, Minnesota. His last few years he attended Salem Covenant Church, Duluth, Minnesota. He enjoyed fishing with his family, especially his grandchildren and brother, Keith. He liked to tinker in his garage, creating makeshift items and some crafts. The last few years he enjoyed going to auctions with his family. He went to be with his Lord on April 4, 2018, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. As his family expressed their love for him and said goodbye, a single tear fell down his right cheek. He was a tender, dear, sweet man until his last breath. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy of Duluth, Minnesota, his son John Wayne (Bonnie) of Proctor, Minnesota, his grandchildren, John Whitney of Roseville, Minnesota, Andrew (Rosa) of Blaine, Minnesota, Nathan (Janine) of Cloquet, Minnesota, Caleb (Pearl) of Cloquet, Minnesota, Moriah, Isaiah and Merabbeth of Proctor, Minnesota, four great granddaughters Aoife, Vera, Fyrne and Posey of Blaine, Minnesota, two sisters, Loretta (Rich) of Weyers Cave, Virginia and Edith Sue of Bridgewater, Virginia, two brothers, Larry (Virgina) and Keith (Patricia) of Bridgewater, Virginia, and many, many loving and beloved nieces and nephews and cousins. His passing follows that of his parents, a sister, two brothers and a grandson Eli. A private family graveside committal will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Bell Brothers Funeral Home, Duluth, Minnesota.
