Obituary of John William Runquist

John was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota and was a graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. He spent a large amount of time in the Cotton area at the family’s lake home taking care of his parents. Loving music and people, he helped with the Cotton Fiddle Contest along with his banjo picking mom and enjoyed attending the senior citizen’s events. John loved to talk and socialize. We will miss his role as family historian, his music, his jokes, and his sense of fun. He is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Reierson and Mari Young, a niece and four nephews. John chose not to have a memorial service. In lieu of cards or flowers, any donations can be sent to the Cotton Area Senior Citizens Club, 5963 Morley Beach Road, Cotton, MN, 55724.
