Obituary of Henry W Paczynski

He was born May 27, 1931, to Anton and Paula Paczynski in Duluth. Pete grew up in Duluth and after high school he served in the U.S. AirForce. He was on track to play college hockey but was diagnosed with Polio. The majority of his working career was in the steel fabricating industry and retired as a purchasing agent for Chris Jensen Nursing Home. He was a lifelong resident of Hermantown and Duluth. Pete's family meant everything to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and their activities. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his harvest with others. He was also known for his great sense of humor. Pete was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, JoAnne (Kennedy) Paczynski. Pete will be greatly missed by his children, Kevin (Rebekah) Smith of Prince George, Virginia, Terry Paczynski of Esko, Karen (Kenneth) Kirkman of Apple Valley, and Colleen (Andy) Kirkman of Cloquet; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother Carl Paczynski. Pete's family would like to express a special thank you for the wonderful care that he received from Essentia Health, Dr. Jane Rudd, the entire staff at the West Duluth Clinic, Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Hermantown, Diamond Willow’s Traditions Memory Care in Proctor, and Essentia Health’s Hospice Team. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Asbury United Methodist Church. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave. Duluth. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
